Special categories (ΕΚ) in the Cadastre: roads, streams, common areas
Not all parcels have a “normal” 12-digit numeric KAEK. Common and special areas —
roads, squares, streams, the foreshore, railway lines, large public works — are
registered as special categories, with the letters ΕΚ in
positions 6–7 of the code.
Example:
02037ΕΚ00058 — the first 5 digits normally denote the prefecture
and OTA (02037), the ΕΚ the nature of the area, and the rest
its serial number.
Why it concerns you
Special areas define the boundaries with private parcels: where the road or stream “stops” also determines the boundary of your own property. In implementation acts, regularisations and building permits, adjacency to an ΕΚ area is often critical information.

On the map, turn on the “Special Categories” button: the ΕΚ areas in the visible region appear with a magenta outline. Clicking anywhere on them shows the area's details, like any other parcel.
