Easements in the Cadastre: what they are and how to see them on the map
An easement (δουλεία) is a real right over someone else's property. The most common is a right of way: the right of one property's owner to pass through a neighbouring parcel to reach their own. Other examples: the passage of pipes, drawing water, or a ban on building in favour of a neighbouring property.
Why it matters
An easement “follows” the property, not the owner — it is transferred with it. In a sale, the existence of an easement over the parcel (or in its favour) affects the use and often the value. That is why easements are also mapped spatially on cadastral diagrams, as polygons inside parcels.
How to see them on kaek.app
On the map, turn on the “Easements” button: the area's registered easements appear with a green dashed outline over the parcels. Hovering over one shows the easement number, the parcel's KAEK and the registration date.
